Over the past few days Sylvie Levi-Roos, our other euro communication member in Great Britain and internationally renowned interpreter has been following a rainbow of red, white, blue… and Brown on the occasion of the French President’s state visit to Great Britain.
The French President came with his ravishingly charming new wife at his side, and conquered: the hearts of the people who saw her and the minds of those who listened to him. An Entente Formidable- it certainly was.
As the official FCO interpreter our member accompanied the party to the Emirates Stadium and attended both Windsor Castle state banquet and the medieval Guildhall gala dinner, rubbing shoulders with royalty and the political and social elite; while all eyes were on Carla, all ears were on our interpreter rendering every nuance of the speeches with the same conviction and enthusiasm.
And whilst Sarkozy announced that ‘France and Britain have never been so close’, sitting between the most powerful representatives of these two countries, our member probably got as close as it gets..
