With consecutive interpretation, the transfer from one language into another happens after the statement has been made (consecutively) where statements can be of different lengths, but in most cases they would cover a longer passage of ideas related in meaning.
To be a highly performing consecutive interpreter the basic skills mentioned above under the heading of simultaneous interpreter are not sufficient. What is also required are highly analytical and memorizing skills.
